This Privacy Policy explains how Jotdown handles information. By using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy and agree to its terms.
Who we are
Jotdown is an iOS application designed to give you a fast, simple, and minimal place to write down thoughts, notes, and reminders.
Summary of our approach
We designed Jotdown to keep things simple, private, and lightweight. We do not require you to create an account to use the core features of the App. Your notes are intended for your personal use. Optional purchases are processed through Apple to unlock premium features. If you contact us by email, we will use your email address only to reply and keep appropriate support records.
Your entries and privacy
What you write in Jotdown is private to you. By default, your entries are stored locally on your device. Jotdown does not read, collect, or use the content of your entries for advertising, analytics, or profiling purposes.
If you choose to enable iCloud sync, your entries may be synced through your Apple account so they are available across your devices. In that case, your entries are handled through Apple’s iCloud services rather than being sent to Jotdown’s own servers.
Purchases
Optional in-app purchases are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to help validate purchases, manage entitlement status, and unlock premium features. We do not receive, process, or store your full payment information.
Face ID and device security
If you choose to enable Face ID protection, Jotdown uses Apple’s authentication framework to help protect access to the App. We do not receive or store your Face ID data.
Data retention
Purchase-related records are retained only as long as needed to provide premium access, handle support requests, and comply with legal obligations. Emails you send us are retained for as long as reasonably necessary to handle your request and maintain legitimate business records.

Emails you send us
If you contact us by email, we will process your email address and any information you include so we can respond. We use this information only for support and record-keeping consistent with this Policy.
Data security
We use industry-standard safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we continuously work to protect the app and the information it processes.
International users
Depending on your location and our service providers, data related to your use of the App may be processed in countries other than your own. We take steps to work with providers that implement appropriate protections consistent with applicable law.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of certain information. Because Jotdown is designed to minimize personal data collection, the information we can access about you may be limited. To exercise a right or ask a question, email jotdownapp@outlook.com.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify you within the App or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of Jotdown after an update becomes effective means you accept the updated Policy.
